The liberation of Veliko Tarnovo will come back to life before the eyes of its citizens as well as the guests of the old capital. This one of a kind event marks the 140th anniversary of the memorable and historical event which occurred on the 7th of July 1877. The climax of the celebration will take place on the 8th of July. At 10:30 there will be a parade with starting point Gurko Street. Veliko Tarnovo invites its citizens as well as the guests to take part in this unforgettable event. You can witness the capturing of the Konak which will be carried out in front of the Museum of National Revival and Constituent Assembly. The participants in this memorable battle will be wearing traditional uniforms and weapons. The liberation of Veliko Tarnovo will be marked by different events. At 18:30 in Marno Pole Park the Municipal Big Bend will be performing and its musicians will be situated in the area around the monument of General Gurko. An half an hour later, the official representatives, the citizens as well as the guests of Veliko Tarnovo will present a bouquet of flowers in front of the Mother Bulgaria War Memorial. At 19:30 on Tsar Assen I Square there will be a concert carried out by a folklore ensemble. At 20:30 in front of the Tsarevets Fortress the mayor Daniel Panov will deliver a speech and the end of the evening will be marked by a military ritual and fireworks. On Saturday the 8th of July the Museum of National Revival and Constituent Assembly, Sarafkina`s House Museum and the Museum of Prison will be with no entrance fee for all visitors. A one of a kind exhibition “Sabers of the voivodes” can be visited in the Museum of National Revival and Constituent Assembly.
