A free walking guide tour which marks the 140th anniversary of the liberation of Veliko Tarnovo - 8th of July 2017

On the 8th of July (Saturday), Regional Museum of History – Veliko Tarnovo invites its citizens as well as its guests to be part of the free walking guide tour which marks the 140th anniversary of the liberation of Veliko Tarnovo from the Ottoman Empire.

There will be two tours - at 12:30 and 14:00 and the meeting point will be at the Museum of the National Revival and Constituent Assembly. The attending groups will be accompanied by the tour guides Petko Petkanski, Temenuga Georgieva and Penka Vitkova.

The route itself:
Beginning – 12:30 from the Museum of the National Revival and Constituent Assembly

12:30 - A visit of the Museum of the National Revival and Constituent Assembly with a thematic lecture and examination of the exposition included.

A visit of the Museum of Prison – a narrative which focuses on the Bulgarian revolutionists who were held captive and were tortured in the prison.

The next interesting stop of the tour is the monument of Hristo Ivanov (an associate of Vasil Levski)

A visit of Sarafkina's House Museum.

From the platform situated in front of the “Gurko” Hotel – a narrative which focuses on the Monument to the Assen Dynasty, The “Boris Denev” Art Gallery and the Stambolov Bridge.

Mother Bulgaria War Memorial.

The tour ends in front of the General Gurko's Monument in Marno Pole Park.

On the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the liberation of Veliko Tarnovo there will be no entrance fee for the following museums: The Museum of the National Revival and Constituent Assembly, the Museum of Prison and Sarafkina's House Museum.
